NOTES FOR CORRECT USE
Please read the instructions for your new diet computer carefully before use.
As a result of faulty operation or incorrect input, the device may provide data which
could lead to incorrect diet and hence damage to health for persons who must
follow a strict diet.
The mean values for the nutritional components of 425 foods are programmed in
your diet computer. The values set correspond to the German food code. The values
set in this device are approximately in the range specified in nutritional tables for
commercially standard quantities of the respective foods, according to present-day
knowledge. These programmed nutritional values are not binding. In particular, the
user of the diet computer is responsible for verifying whether the foodstuff actually
used has other values and whether there are any other circumstances indicating
that the values may differ.
The values must be reprogrammed without fail, if use of the data programmed by
the factory could lead to an incorrect diet, potentially harming a person's health or
threatening his/her life.
Utmost care must be taken when making programme changes, since the computer
does not carry out any plausibility checks. In other words, it also accepts incorrect
values when reprogrammed. Information on correct operation can be found in
these instructions.
The modified data must be entered in the enclosed food list, so that the old values
contained in the list are not used inadvertently.
The diet computer cannot provide a substitute for medical supervision and care.
Users of the diet computer should also ensure that they have the necessary
knowledge to ensure a healthy diet.
