b Perform a visual inspection of each mask
component. If any visible deterioration of a mask
component is apparent (eg cracking, tears etc),
the mask component should be discarded and
replaced. Yellow discolouration of the cushion
may occur. This discolouration is acceptable.
Testing by ResMed has shown that the mask
components can withstand 15 cycles of the
STERRAD 100S Sterilisation System.
WARNING: MIRAGE NV FULL FACE MASK SERIES 2
components should not be subjected to autoclave or
ethylene-oxide gas sterilisation.
4 Reassemble the mask as described in the
“Reassembling the Mask” section on page 9.
Note: If a healthcare facility requires an additional
disinfection or sterilisation process after reassembly,
the number of validated cycles is halved.
REASSEMBLING THE MASK
Ensure that all parts of the mask system, including
headgear and Quick Release Tab mechanism, are clean,
dry and free from damage before reassembling.
Replace any affected part if it shows signs of wear or
damage.
1 Twist the luer lock port caps onto the mask ports
(Fig. 8).
2 Fit the grooved edge of the mask cushion to the
mask frame. Fit the top section first, then work
your way around the mask, pushing the cushion
onto the frame, ensuring a good seal has been
achieved.
