8 HOW TO USE
• Please make sure to use a new and clean probe cover to ensure accurate measurement.
• Press the Start - button (1) to turn the power on. The display will shows all symbols.
Before inserting the probe:
- For children < 1 year : Pull the ear down and back.
- For children > 1 year to adult : Pull the ear up and back.
• While holding the ear, insert the probe to seal the ear canal, then press the Start - button
(1) once. You will hear a short beep.
• When you hear a short melody, the measurement is finished.Take out the thermometer
from the ear canal. The measured temperature is displayed. The result will be stored auto-
matically into the memory. If the memory is full (30 records), the oldest measurement result
will be removed.
9 DISPLAY ERROR MESSAGES
‘HI’ The measured temperature is higher than 42,9 °C.
‘LO’ The measured temperature lower than 32 °C
‘ErrE’ The thermometer temperature is not within the operation specifications (<10°C or >40°C)
‘ErrU’ Don’t measure after pressing ‘Measure’. Follow the steps mentioned in the user guide.
‘ErrH’ An error is detected during self-check. Remove the batteries for 10 seconds and try again.
Low battery. Replace the battery.
10 TIME SETTINGS
• Power on the unit by pressing the Start - button (1) once. You will hear a short beep. Time mode is displayed.
• Press and hold the Memo - button (4). The hour digits are blinking.
• Press the Memo - button (4) repeatedly to increase the digit.
• Press the Talk - button (3) to confirm. The minutes digits are blinking.
• Repeat previous steps for setting the minutes, year, month and day.
• After setting the day, the unit will enter time mode.
11 TALK MODE
The result of each measurement is broadcasted through the speaker.
To broadcast the time, press the Talk - button (3) in Time mode.
• To disable the talk mode, press and hold the Talk - button (3) for 2 seconds. You hear one beep tone.
• To enable the talk mode, press and hold the Talk - button (3) again for 2 seconds. You hear a double beep
tone.
12 MEMORY
The Ear Thermometer will automatically store the last 30 measurements.
• Power on the unit by press the Start - button (1) once. You will hear a short beep. Time mode is displayed.
• Press the Memo - button (4). The last result is displayed.
• Press the Memo - button (4) repeatly, the display will show the temperature of the previous measurements.
• Press and hold the Memo - button (4) repeatly to scroll rapidly.
It is recommended that you take three temperatures in the same ear under the following
circumstances. If they are different, use the highest reading.
• Infants in the first 3 months of life.
• Children under three years old who have a condition such as acompromised
immune system and for whom the presence or absence of fever is critical.
• When you are first learning to use the ear thermometer until you are comfortable
with the technique and are gaining consistent readings
Important: As with any type of thermometer, slight temperature variations (+/- 0.2 -
0.3°C) can happen, if consecutive measurements are taken.
