ANTI-TIP WHEEL ADJUSTMENT
The anti-tip wheels are designed to give the Jazzy increased stability on rough surfaces. The anti-tip wheels
are preset at the factory to a ground clearance height of 3/4-in. This setting is only for smooth surfaces or
indoor use. If you plan on using your Jazzy on rough surfaces, it may be necessary to adjust the anti-tip
wheels to better suit your needs.
The anti-tip wheels may need adjustment if either of the following occurs:
n When coming to a stop, the Jazzy tips forward excessively
n The anti-tip wheels constantly rub the ground
Each drive tire must have 3035 lbs. of pressure in order to adjust the anti-tip wheels properly.
To adjust the anti-tip wheels:
1. Remove the seat.
2. Use a 5/32-in. hex wrench to loosen and remove the hex screws that fasten the body shroud to the
frame.
3. Remove the both body shrouds.
4. Adjust the 13-mm nut so that the anti-tip wheel is 1/2 to 1 inch off the ground. See figure 13.
5. Turn the nut clockwise to lower the anti-tip wheel and counterclockwise to raise the anti-tip wheels.
VI. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING! Consult your authorized Pride provider before attempting to change the anti-tip wheel
height! Changing the anti-tip wheel height affects handling under deceleration!
WARNING! The higher you raise the anti-tip wheels, the more you increase your power chairs
tendency to tilt forward when coming to a stop. You can compensate for this by having your
authorized Pride provider make a small adjustment to the pre-programmed deceleration setting in
the controller or by moving the seat assembly further to the rear of your power chair.
