6 If “Er.2” is shown on the display, the operating range
is too low.
Solution: Area/Room is too cold for thermometer to
take a reading. Move to another area within the 61ºF to
104ºF (16.0ºC – 40.0ºC) range and retake temperature.
Allow 30 minutes for unit to adjust to the room
temperature.
7 If “Er.3” is shown on the display, there is a system error.
Solution: Remove the battery and replace it in order
to reset.

TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING MODES
1 Low Battery Warning
When the display flashes the temperature reading and
a blinking battery symbol, the 9V battery is low and
should be replaced. See Battery Installation section for
instructions on installing/replacing the battery.
2 If “– –” and a blinking battery symbol appear on the display,
there is not enough energy in the battery to measure a
temperature. Replace the battery. See Battery Installation
section for instructions.
3 If a flashing “107.6ºF” is shown on the display, the target
temperature is too high for thermometer to capture
a reading.
Solution: This would indicate a person’s temperature
is above 107.6ºF (42.0ºC), and a physician should be
contacted immediately.
4 If “- -” is shown on the display, the target temperature
is too low for thermometer to capture a reading.
Solution: This would indicate a person’s temperature
is below 96ºF (35.5ºC), and a physician should be
contacted immediately.
5 If “Er.1” is shown on the display, the operating range
is too high.
Solution: Area/Room is too warm for thermometer
to take a temperature. Move to another area within
the 61ºF to 104ºF (16.0ºC – 40.0ºC) range and retake
temperature.Allow 30 minutes for unit to adjust to
the room temperature.
