TAKING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Display is blank,
even when the
power is turned
on.
The device will
not measure.
Readings are too
high or too low.
Other
Probable cause
Batteries are drained.
Battery terminals are
not in the correct
position.
The cuff is not fas-
tened properly.
You moved your arm
or body during the
measurement.
The position of your
wrist is not correct.
The blood pressure
reading is different
from that measured
at a clinic or doctors
office.
Corrective action
Replace with new batteries.
Place the battery with
negative and positive ter-
minals matching those
indicated in the battery
compartment.
Fasten the cuff correctly.
Make sure you remain
very still and quiet during
the measurement.
Position your wrist so it
is level with your heart,
using an arm rest if
needed.

Remove the batteries.
Place back in correctly,
and try the measurement
again.
