The small-carriageFX-850 is one of Epson’s more recent dot-matrix
printers.Becauseof thepopularityof the IBMPersonalComputer,which
was marketedwith a modifiedEpsonprinter,thousandsof softwarepro-
gramsalreadyworkwithEpsonprintercommands.
Ifyouhaveaprogramthatdoesn’tworkwithlaserprintercommands,you’ll
ahnostcertainlyfinditwillworkwiththecommandsintheStarLaserPrinter
4’s FX-850emulationmode.YourStarLaserPrinter4willprintanydocu-
mentsyoucreatewithstandardEpsoncommands.
Wefollowthesamesequencein thischapteras we didin earlierchaptem:
firstsomeprintermanagementandpagesetupcommands,thenwe’llcover
commandsthatmovetheprintposition,andfinallywe’llprintourdocument
withour choiceof fontattributes.
