packedsnowsurfaces,adjusttheskidsupwardso
thatthescraperbar touchestheground.,
• Ongravel orcrushedrocksurfaces,settheskidsat
t-1/4" below the scraperbar (see To AdjustSkid
Heightparagraphon page t7). Stones andgravel
mustnotbe pickedupand thrownbythemachine,.
• If thefront of thesnowthrowerhas a tendencyto
raise,reduce the groundspeed and engagethe
weighttransfersystem.
• Alter the snowblowing job has been completed,
allowtheenginetoidlefora few minutes, whichwill
meltsnowand accumulated iceoft theengine
• Cleanthesnowthrower thoroughlyaftereachuse.
• Removeiceandsnowaccumulation and alldebris
fromtheentiresnow thrower,and flushwithwater
(if possible)toremoveallsaltor otherchemicals.
Wipesnow throwerdry,,
Ifthe starterisfrozenand wiltnotturnengine:
• Pullasmuch ropeout ofthe starteras possible.,
• Release the starter handle and let it snap back
againstthestarter.
If the enginestillfails tostart,repeat untilit starts_
Tohelppreventpossiblefreeze-upofrecoilstarterand
engine controls,proceed as fol!ows after each snow
removaljob..
o Withthe engine running, pull thestarter ropehard
witha continuous fullarmstrokethreeorfourtimes.
Pullingofstarterropewillproducea loud clattering
sound..Thisis notharmfultotheengineorstarter..
• With the engine not running, wipeall snowand
moisturefromthecarburetorcoverinareaofcontrol
levers., Also movethrottlecontrol, chokecontrol,
and starterhandleseveraltimes,
