USING THE VCR REMOTE TO OPERATE HITACHI OR HUGHES DSS® BOX
The VCR remote control can be programmed to control Hitachi or Hughes.
When using a DSS® box other than these two brands, refer to the DSS®
box manual.

1 — Transmission window
2 CLEAR/EXIT to clear the main menu from the display and will
return to the channel that was being viewed prior to
entering the menus.
3 DISP/INFO to show the information about the program on the TV
screen.
4 DSS GUIDE to show the available program at a given time on
several different channels.
5 PAUSE/SELECT to show the program guide on the TV screen while
watching DSS video.
6 DSS MENU to show the main menu on the TV screen.
7 — Cursor keys for DSS® box
8 DSS to select DSS to control from three devices (VCR, TV,
DSS).
9 DSS/TV to select the DSS mode or the TV mode.
