User Maintenance
The hand-held unit shall be detached
from the power supply cord before
cleaning. The shaver shall not be
used until it has dried.
Replacing the Shaving Head
Cartridge:
When your shaver’s cartridge replace-
ment indicator begins to flash, it is
time to replace the shaving head.
The replacement part is model HGX-
RC1(1-pack) or HGX-RC2(2-pack).
In order to change the shaving head
cartridge, simply push the eject button
on the shaver and the cartridge will
eject from the shaver. If a cartridge is
ejected before the indicator light flash
-
es, the cartridge can be placed back
onto the shaver until the hair pocket
becomes full. When a new cartridge is
installed, the replace indicator light will
flash, confirming the beard-type set
-
ting (3 flashes for heavy, 2 flashes for
medium, 1 flash for light). The beard-
type selector switch can be changed
at any time up to the third shave, per
cartridge. After the third shave, the
selector switch will be locked until a
new cartridge is installed.
Typically, a shaver with a medium beard
type selected will take approximately 30
shaves to fill the hair collection cham
-
ber. The shaver will count a full shave if
the shaver is on for at least one minute
or more. The total number of shaves for
each replacement cartridge will depend
on what beard-type is selected (light,
medium, or heavy).
Replacement Cartridge is model
HGX-RC1(1-pack) or HGX-RC2
(2-pack).

Disposal
Rechargeable Battery
Removal
When your rechargeable shaver
reaches the end of its useful life, the
batteries must be removed from the
shaver and be recycled or disposed
of properly in accordance with your
state and local requirements. If this
is not required by law, you may elect
to dispose of the shaver without the
batteries.
CAUTION! Do not put in fire or muti-
late your batteries when disposing
as they may burst and release toxic
materials. Do not short circuit as it
may cause burns. Dispose of prop
-
erly in accordance with your local
and state requirements.
Shaving Tips:
Ensure your skin is dry and free of
oils.
Always hold the shaver at a right
angle to the skin so that the foils are
touching the skin with equal pressure.
Use moderate to slow, circular
stroking movement.
The use of short, circular motions in
stubborn areas may obtain a closer
shave, especially along the neck
and chin line.
Do not press hard against the skin in
order to avoid damage to the foils.
Do not hold the shaver at an angle
in which only one foil is touching the
skin- this will distort the foil and may
cause the cutters to damage the foil.
