What’s Included
Installing Batteries
You will need...
Two AAA batteries
Remove the battery compartment cover.
Insert two batteries in the battery com-
partment, as indicated by the polarity
symbols (+ and- ) marked inside.
Replace the battery cover and snap into
place.
Using the Infrared Ear Thermometer
Press the button to turn on the thermometer. All display segments
appear briefly, followed by beeps. appears and the LCD display
lights for a moment.
Insert the thermometer’s probe into the ear canal
as follows.
For children one year or older, and adults:
pull the ear slightly backward to straighten the
ear canal. Then, insert the probe in the ear as
far as it goes. Be sure the probe fully seals the
ear canal. Hold this position until the measure-
ment is completed.
For an infant less than one year old: pull the
ear straight back and insert the probe directly
against the ear canal.
Press the button until the ear thermometer
sounds a long beep.
Remove the thermometer from the ear canal and read measurement.
If you want to take another measurement, wait until the appears on
the LCD display. If no additional measure-
ments are taken within one minute, the ther-
mometer turns off automatically. Protect the
thermometer with the probe cap after each
use.
Your Temperature
Err appears when you use the thermometer in
atmospheres out of its operating temperature
range of 59 - 104

Selecting the Degree Format
Remove the battery compartment cover.
Remove one battery from the battery
compartment.
Use tweezers to remove the black tab
above the battery compartment to change
from Fahrenheit to Celsius. Replace the
tab to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Replace the battery and the battery com-
partment cover.
Press the button to display the new for-
mat.
Do not throw the black tab away. Save
for future use.
