INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new apparatus, please read
this user guide carefully before using it for the rst time.
We also recommend that you keep the instructions for
future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the
functions of your apparatus.
SAFETY MEASURES
Incorrect use of the appliance may damage it.
Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer
is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting
from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee
Terms).
For domestic use only. Not for commercial use.
Do not place the appliance on a carpeted or uneven
surface, and do not place it close to electrical
appliances, since their radiation may cause the
appliance not to function properly.
Do not place or store near powerful heat sources or
in a damp environment.
Do not store other objects on top of the appliance.
Do not immerse in water or allowed to get wet.
Do not expose to direct sunlight for long periods.
Remove the batteries if the appliance is not to be
used for a prolonged period.
Do not attempt to weigh objects which exceed the
appliance's maximum capacity of 5 kg.
If the appliance has been damaged, it should
be inspected and if necessary repaired by an
authorised repair engineer. Please contact the store
where you bought the appliance for repairs under
guarantee. Unauthorised repairs or modications to
the appliance will invalidate the guarantee.
KEY TO MAIN COMPONENTS OF THE APPARATUS
1. Weighing platform
2. Display
3. UNIT button (unit of measurement)
4. ”ON/TARE” button (ON/TARE)
5. Rubber feet (4 of) with sensors
6. Lock tab
7. Battery cover
8. Battery compartment
PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Press the lock tab (6) to remove the battery cover (7)
on the underside of the appliance.
Insert 2 x 3 volt batteries, type CR-2032, in the
battery compartment (8).
o Make sure that the batteries are correctly
inserted, since incorrectly inserted batteries may
damage the appliance! See diagram on battery
cover.
o Press the batteries rmly into place.
Replace the cover.
USE
Place the appliance on a level surface.
Switch the appliance on by pressing the “ON/OFF”
button (4). Wait until the a unit of measure and one
or more digits are shown on the display (2).
Choose the desired unit of measurement by
pressing the UNIT button (3). There are four units of
measurements available:
o g (grams)
o kg (kilograms)
o oz (ounces)
o lb/oz (pounds/ounces)
Place the object you wish to weigh on the weighing
platform (1).
Wait until the display is stable, and read the weight
on the display.
Use the tare function of the appliance to weigh
several consecutive objects in the following manner:
1. Place the rst object (for example, a bowl) on
the weighing platform (1). If desired, note the
weight of the object before proceeding.
2. Press the "ON/TARE" button once to reset the
weight. The weight of the rst object will now
be displayed as zero, even though it remains on
the weighing platform.
3. Place the next object on the weighing platform
(e.g. by pouring an ingredient into the bowl) and
read the weight when the display is stable. Only
the weight of the ingredients in the bowl will be
displayed.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as required, if you wish to
add more ingredients.
The appliance automatically switches off after
approx. 1 second with no activity.
NOTE:
If you try to weigh something heavier than the
appliance can bear (more than 5 kg), the display will
show “O-ld” (Overload).
If you wish to move the appliance, you should turn
it off before moving. Do not switch it on again until
it is placed correctly on an even surface in order for
it to calibrate correctly. The sensors in the rubber
feet only function properly when resting on a level
surface.
