INTRODUCTION
To get the most out of your new hairdryer, please read
through these instructions carefully before using it for
the fi rst time. We also recommend that you keep the
instructions for future reference, so that you can remind
yourself of the functions of your hairdryer.
SAFETY MEASURES
Normal use of the hairdryer
• Incorrect use of the hairdryer may cause personal
injury and damage to the appliance.
• Use the hairdryer for its intended purpose only.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any injury
or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling
(see also Guarantee Terms).
• The hairdryer may only be connected to 230 V, 50
Hz.
• The hairdryer or cord must not be placed in water or
any other liquid.
• Never leave the hairdryer unattended when in use.
Children may only use the hairdryer under the
supervision of an adult.
• This hairdryer is not suitable for commercial or
outdoor use.
• When in use, the air intake on the back of the
hairdryer must not be blocked. If the air intake is
blocked, the hairdryer will overheat. If this happens,
the overheat protection will automatically shut off
power to the hairdryer. Turn off the hairdryer, and
remove the plug from the mains socket.
• The hairdryer must not be used without the rear fi lter
fi tted.
• Do not leave the hairdryer on clothes, bedding, etc.
made from synthetic materials, which are heat-
sensitive and easily combustible, while it is switched
on or still warm.
• Do not use the hairdryer in the vicinity of
combustible or explosive liquids or gases, for
example, in the vicinity of oxygen cylinders.
• In order to avoid burns, you should avoid blowing
hot air directly into the eyes or on very sensitive
skin.
Cord, plug and mains socket
• Check regularly that the cord and plug are not
damaged and do not use the hairdryer if they are, or
if it has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
• If the hairdryer, cord or plug is damaged, the
appliance must be inspected and, if necessary,
repaired by an authorised repair engineer, otherwise
there is a risk of electric shock. Never try to repair
the appliance yourself.
• Remove the plug from the socket before cleaning.
• Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from
the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
• The cord must not be wound around the appliance.

USE
• When the hairdryer is plugged in, the display (9)
lights up briefl y.
• Switch the hairdryer on by pressing the on/off
button (1). The hairdryer starts up at the lowest
temperature and drying speed. A fan is shown on
the right of the display, and the settings selected are
shown on the left:
o The drying speed is shown at the top as a
horizontal bar next to the word “Speed”. The
temperature is shown at the bottom as a
horizontal bar next to the word “Temp”.
• The fi rst time the hairdryer is used, it may give
off a small amount of smoke. This is because an
extra layer of protective oil on the heating element
is being burned off. This is quite normal and not
dangerous, and will disappear after a short period of
use.
• Use the temperature control (4) to select a heat
setting, and use the speed selector (5) to select a
drying speed.
o Caution! Temperature and drying speed can be set
independently of one another, but if the
temperature is increased, the drying speed also
increases correspondingly. This ensures that the
hairdryer does not overheat at high temperatures
and low drying speeds.
