Oxygen Flow Control Regulators
Oxygen ow control regulators are pressure-reducing
devices which lower oxygen pressure from a cylinder to
levels that can be safely used by the end user.
Oxygen ow control regulators are intended for the admin-
istration of oxygen to patients who need increased oxygen
levels to improve their breathing conditions. In addition,
some models may be used in emergency situations. In an
emergency situation, be sure to contact a physician or EMS
immediately.
WARNING: DO NOT reuse plastic crush gaskets (fire risk).
Set-Up (Yoke Style)
• Inspect the cylinder following the instructions of your
gas supplier. Be sure to purge the cylinder valve seat of
debris.
• Inspect the regulator for oil or grease. If either is vis-
ible, DO NOT use the regulator.
• Be sure the sealing washer is in place on the inlet of the
regulator.
• Before attaching the regulator to the valve, inspect the
regulator and the seal to ensure that they’re in good
condition, and be sure that the regulator has just one of
the CGA-870 seals. Slip the yoke over the cylinder post
and t the pins into the holes on the cylinder valve. The
pins should t easily into these holes.
• Tighten the T-handle rmly by hand, but don’t use
wrenches or other tools that may over-torque the
handle. Turn the T-Handle clockwise until the screw is
seated in the dimple on the cylinder valve. Be sure the
regulator is tightened securely into the cylinder.
• Attach the oxygen supply tubing to the outlet connec-
tion of the regulator.
