Important Safeguards

Caution
Do not expose to temperatures of more
than 50 °C or 120 °F (for instance: glove
compartment of cars), or direct sunlight
for long periods of time.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not allow the appliance to become
wet.
When starting the appliance please
ensure that it is held away from the hair,
face and clothing. Do not start the
appliance while it is in the hair in order
to avoid damage to the hair.
Only use on hair that has been dried.
Do not use hair spray during styling.
If using aerosol sprays or flammable
liquids before styling your hair, allow five
minutes before turning the styling iron
on to let flammable vapors disperse.
Use Braun energy cells only.
Energy cell contains flammable butane
gas under pressure.
Keep away from sparks and flames
(burning cigarettes as well). Do not
smoke while using or refilling.
Avoid touching the hot parts of the
product.
When hot, do not place on surfaces
which are not heat-resistant.
Do not take apart, puncture or
incinerate.
If the appliance is damaged, stop using
it immediately. For repairs refer to
authorized Braun Service Centers only.

2 Inserting or changing the
Braun «energy cell»
The energy supply must be switched off
(switch (A) to position «0»).
Press the release button (E) and pull off
the handle (F).
Insert a Braun energy cell into the
handle as shown (arrow pointing
upwards). With the energy cell in place,
push the handle onto the appliance until
it snaps into place.
The handle is provided with a butane
level indicator (G) that shows the
amount of fluid remaining in the cell.
Only use Braun energy cells. These are
available from the retailer where this
appliance was purchased, as well as from
authorized Braun Service Centers. The
energy cells can be inserted or removed
at any time, even if they are only partially
filled.
3 Switching on
a) To start the energy supply slide switch
(A) up to position «1». Wait three to
four seconds.
Continue to slide switch (A) further up
to the «start» position until you hear a
click.
The appliance will now start heating
up.
b) Remove your finger from the switch
and let the switch slide back to
position «1».
c) The ignition window (C) illuminates to
show that the appliance has ignited
and is heating up. In the unlikely case
that it does not heat up, make sure
that switch (A) is on position «1» and
push it up to «start» again.
d) After approximately one to two
minutes, the ready indicator dot (B)
turns dark to indicate that the
appliance has heated up and is ready
for use.
After use
Switch off the appliance by sliding switch
(A) back to position «0».
Cleaning
Make sure the appliance is switched off
and cooled down. Never immerse the
appliance in water.
The tong and the handle can be cleaned
with a soft damp cloth only.
The styling brush and the protective cover
can be cleaned in warm, soapy water.
Storage
After use or cleaning, always place the
heat-resistant protective cover (H) on the
appliance to ensure that the appliance is
not switched on unintentionally.

Air Travel
International Air Transport Association
Regulations permit passengers and crew
members to carry one Braun styling iron
aboard commercial aircraft. It may be
carried in either checked or carry-on
baggage provided that the protective
cover is securely placed over the styling
iron’s heating surface. Cordless styling
irons must not be used on board the
aircraft at any time. Extra refills (Braun
energy cells) are not permitted in either
checked or carry-on luggage.
