I purchased a Taylor 6700 Easy Read Dial Thermomet...

I purchased a Taylor 6700 Easy Read Dial Thermometer however the temperature readings never go above 80 degrees. I am in SW Florida and I know that the temperature has been far above that reading. Is there some way to calibrate or adjust the measurement or is the thermometer defective
