Immediately after the initial 88888s', an 'error' ...

Immediately after the initial 88888s', an 'error' message appears. Can you let me know how to reset/recalibrate our scales? I've tried to overcome the problem by replacing the batteries to no avail. Regards, Lloyd M. Reynolds.
