3 This is usually caused by someone holding down the on/off/tare button whilst installing batteries. Here's the fix. Get a 3kg weight. Remove batteries and re-install the batteries whilst holding down the on/off/tare button. it will come up with a series of numbers. Push the on/off/tare button again and it will show "zero". Just leave it for a few seconds then it will show "3000g" or the lbs equivalent). Place the 3kg object on the scales and it will show pass. Now your scales are ready to use.

0 I have the same problem, and was surprised to see it addressed above. But it didn't work, and I found the instructions abmiguous (like, what say that holding down the devices single button while installing a new battery is the problem, then advising doing the same to fix it; when is the 3-kg weight applied?)

Still pressing button, add weight (anything heavy) to scale on a flat surface.
Release button and wait till it says 3000.
