my scales are flashing P:1 and won't stop. we've replaced the batteries.

0 I spilled water over the scale and after that it had the same issue as you describe. It has something to do with the buttons. If you can live without all the fancy features and just want to know your weight, just open the white box on the bottom of the scale by removing the 5 screws and unplug the white flat cable. Fixed the problem for me :)

I fixed it by removing the batteries then prising off the  plastic button strip, carefully giving the contacts and back of the buttons a clean (I used a screwdriver but wire wool may work), then reassembling and putting ht batteries back. 

Seems fine now.

0 Hello All, I had a similar problem where the flashing P1 was random. Changes batteries no change so as above I prised off the plastic housing, and when the ribbon separated, I did a similar thing to my microwave ribbon terminals. I used an eraser to rub and clean the ends of the ribbon strip. then proceeded to put things back together an it is functioning the same as before. this is a good fix if you live in the tropics with high humidity...
