How do I get the battery compartment open?

0 The 3001 scale has a white, rectangular battery compartment screwed together with bolts that can't be unscrewed by standard flathead or phillips-head screwdrivers. You're not meant to unscrew the compartment to change the CR2032 batteries. Instead, there is a tray which slides from the middle of the compartment. You'll notice tabs on opposite sides of the compartment. Push against the slightly convex tab to slide out the tray and change the batteries.
