my bathroom scales keeps giving different readings...

my bathroom scales keeps giving different readings that are completely wrong (several stones out). I have changed batteries but its still the same. Its very annoying when they are only a few years old. My mechanical scales lasted 25 years and it was only because dust got inside the dial and making it unreadable, that I changed them.
