How do you replace the batteries on Salter Model 6055?

0 On the older ones that take two "button" batteries, remove the battery cover and lift out the white plastic box (gently, because it is attached to the scale by two thin wires). The box has a drawer in it for the batteries. Look at the two long sides of the box, and you will see that the "insert" in one side is larger than the "insert" in the other side. The large side is the face of the drawer, the side that you must pull out. Use a thin butter knife, or a screw driver to gently pry the drawer out of the box. Pry in the middle of the face of the drawer. When you get the drawer out, the batteries pop out fairly easily and the new ones go in (broad side up, narrow side down). Then slide the drawer back into the box the same way it came out, and replace it in the battery well. Replace the battery cover.
