I cannot get my ear thermometer to work. It just keeps giving the same temperature.

3 You may be pressing the memory button ( smaller button ) . If the thermometer is off hold the larger button for 1 second, the thermometer will turn on with the last temperature measured, wait until -- appears. Place the thinner end in the ear hole and pree the largest button for 1 second, the thermometer should beep and show the temperature. smaller button toggles between the last measured temperatures Hope that helps
