5 To answer simply, most blood pressure cuffs give three numbers. They count the pulse rate of the heart, the pressure when the heart beats, and the pressure in between beats. The desirable blood pressure depends on many things but a good typical pressure is 120/80. Heart rate can be between 60 and 100, depending upon age, fitness, and health.
