How do I reset my SC-501 scales? When I step on it...

How do I reset my SC-501 scales? When I step on it, it keeps jumping all around from 30 pounds to 250 pounds - never stopping on any specific weight. I have loved this scale for many years and would really like to get this issue fixed? Can it be reset?
