Question About Braun Thermometer HM-2

I lost directions. now error3 keeps coming up and I don't know what it means. Please help

4 Error 1 -- means the ambient temperature of the scanner is not in a range where the scanner works properly . 16°C to 40°C (61°F to 104°F) Error 2 -- means measured temp is not in human range, i.e. 34°C- 42,2°C (93,2°F to 108°F) -- this can happen if you press button when your kid pulls away for instance. Error 3 -- means you didn't hold button for a full second, need a full second to get a temperature. Error 4 -- means the scanner internal body temperature is changing rapidly (perhaps you took it out of a cold closet, and used it in a warm room) I got this from the braun website from the manual for the thermoscan IRT 1020 Type 6005 Home Model (http://www.service.braun.com/line/PD/D6005/D6005_2_GB.pdf) Your scanner codes may not match this model.

4 in trying to take our son's temp...it is reading 3.2 i changed out the batteries...what else can i do?

4 For the Error 2 code, try cleaning off the tip of the sensor with a qtip. Dust or gunk (if you don't use the protectors) put a barrier between the sensor and ambient air...thus lowering the body temp below the readable range :)

4 It means that you are not holding down the button for a complete second when taking the temperature.

2 Hadn't used our HM-2 for quite some time and I found that it was dead so I put in a new battery and I still can't get the display to come on. What else do I need to do? Is it worth sending in for repair? Do you still repair them?

1 We have changed batteries on ourHM-2 but we are still getting error 3 and 4 and sometimes 2. Please advise

0 am getting 3 and 4 error message and sometimes 2 in the comment section, after the listing suggesting battery change, don't see a comment if that fixed it for them or not
