ings blocked or while on a soft surface, such as
a bed or couch, where the air openings may be
blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and
other debris.
11. Always attach plug to appliance first, then to
outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to “OFF”,
then remove plug from outlet.
12. Avoid skin contact with moving blades.
13. When using the appliance with its cord, be mind-
ful of tangles or kinks in the cord. If the cord does
become tangled during use, turn the unit off and
straighten cord before operating again.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use only.
Use on Alternating Current (120V AC/60Hz) only.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug
will fit into the outlet only one way. If the plug does
not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install
the proper outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this
safety feature.
Your new Conair® haircut kit has everything you
need to achieve professional haircuts at home.
Its powerful new D.C. motor clipper, with adjust-
able taper control and engineered stainless steel
blade for cutting thick fine hair. Also included are 9
attachment combs for different hair lengths (includ-
ing left and right ear combs), barber scissors, a
barber comb with straight teeth, a full length barber
cape, It also comes with lubricating oil, a cleaning
brush and a blade guard for easy maintenance of
the clipper blades.
THE CONAIR GUIDE
TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME
Before you start:
1. Inspect your clipper. Make sure it’s free of hair and
dirt, properly oiled, and r
unning smoothly.
2. Place the barber cape around the neck of the
person getting a haircut.
3. Seat the person so that his or her head is at your
eye level.This gives you greater visibility and control.
To remove comb attachments, place index finger
and thumb as illustrated; then pull out and up.
NOTE: Never push or shove the clipper
through the hair to make it move more quickly.
Professional experience shows that the clipper
works most efficiently when it cuts through the
hair at its own speed.
To begin cutting hair:
1. The hair should be combed in its natural direction.
2. Using the largest attachment comb, trim sides
from the bottom upwards. Hold clipper lightly
against the hair with
teeth of the attach-
ment comb pointing
upward, yet flat against
the head. Gradually lift
the clipper upward and
outward through the
hair, trimming just a
little at a time.
Repeat around sides
and back of head.
If you want hair to be
even shorter:
A) Apply more pres-
sure to the head with
the attachment comb
that is in place. This
takes a little practice, of
course.
OR
B) Just switch to a
shorter attachment
comb.
Remember, it’s better
to leave too much hair
than too little. For longer
hair on top, use the bar-
ber comb and lift hair on
the top of the head, cut-
ting over the comb. Or
hold the hair between
the fingers and cut to
desired length. Always
working from the front
to the back of the head;
gradually cut the hair
shorter by reducing
the space between the
comb or fingers and the head. Comb often to check
for uneven strands, and to get rid of trimmed hair.
OUTLINING:
Outlining requires no attachments. Comb hair into
the desired style. Position the clipper between the
sideburns and the ear (see below), making sure
the corner edge of the blade is against the hairline.
With the outline of the hair as your guide, slowly
move the clipper over, around and behind the ears.
For the back of the neck and the sideburns, hold
the clipper upside down (see above) and, holding
it against the skin at the length desired, move the
clipper downward.
STOP. COMB. CHECK.
For best results, do as the professionals do: comb hair
often, and check clipping results as you comb. This
way you avoid uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.
SHORT CUTS TO PERFECT
FLAT TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.
Always cut from the back of the neck to the crown,
using the longest comb setting.
Hold the comb attachment flat against the head
and slowly move the clipper up through the hair.
Use the same technique for the sides, cutting from
the bottom to the upper side of the head.
For the front to the crown, cut the hair against the
direction in which it grows. Then even it up with
the sides.
For a flat top, use the flat comb, not the attachment
comb. Just cut hair on top of the head over the flat
comb. (see above).
To taper hair down to the neckline, use attachment
comb #1. Comb hair and check for uneven spots.
Outline sideburns and neck areas (see “Outlining”).
USER-MAINTENANCE

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS
IF YOU DETERMINE THAT BLADE
ALIGNMENT IS INCORRECT:
MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE
Always apply oil to the blades before, dur-
ing and after use. This will ensure maximum
cutting performance. Hold clipper away from your
body in a downward position and apply oil on the
front and sides of the cutter blade. Wipe excess
oil off with a soft dry cloth. Keep oil away from
children.
Conair
®
hair clippers are carefully inspected to
insure that the blades are in perfect alignment. You
will need to realign the blades after removing them
for cleaning or replacement, or if they should be
knocked out of alignment. How can you tell if the
blades need realigning? Simply match them up,
point for point, to conform with the drawing below.
To replace cutting comb and cutter after removal
for cleaning, replacement or, because they are out
of alignment, slide the cutter back onto the black
plastic oscillating head. Next, you must make sure
that the cutter (small blade) and the cutting comb
(large blade) are properly aligned. Line up the new
or existing cutting comb with the two screw holes.
Place the original screws, one in each hole, and
lightly tighten with a Phillips head screwdriver.
*The top edge of the cutting comb should be 1/32”
to 1/16” (.79 mm. to 1.59 mm.) higher than the
top edge of the cutter. This is important so that the
clipper does not cut too close, or come in contact
with the skin.
*The extreme left-hand tooth of the cutting comb
must cover or be to the extreme left hand of the
first small tooth of the cutter.
*Be sure that the extreme right hand big tooth of
the cutter touches the extreme right hand tooth of
the cutting comb.
Any other servicing should be performed by an autho-
rized service representative because this appliance
has no user serviceable parts. The product is for
household use.
Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord around appliance.
SPECIAL OIL
To maintain the blades of your Conair
®
clipper
in peak condition, oil them after every three or
four haircuts. Gently place a few drops of oil on
the teeth of the blades, using the special Conair
oil included with your set. Turn the clipper on for
a minute, then turn off. This light, natural oil was
formulated specifically for the Conair
®
high-speed
clipper. Because it is the right oil to use, it will not
slow down the blades. Never use any other product;
there is no substitute for Conair oil.
Keep oil away from children.

First, comb hair until it’s tangle-free. Then hold clipper
in a comfortable grip. Now you’re ready to cut.
MEDIUM TO LONG CUT
To begin with, cut only a small amount of hair until
you become used to the length each attachment
leaves the hair. Try the longest attachment on the
clipper first. If you want a shorter cut, you can
then use shorter combs.
• Short attachment comb (number 1) cuts hair to 1/8"
(3.175mm).
• Medium-Short attachment comb (number 2) cuts hair to
1/4" (6.350mm).
• Medium-Long attachment comb (number 3) cuts hair to
3/8" (9.525mm).
• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts hair to 1/2"
(12.700mm).
• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts hair to 5/8"
(15.875mm).
• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts hair to 3/4"
(19.050mm).
• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts hair to 7/8"
(22.225mm).
• Left ear attachment
comb lightly tapers over

DE USO
Este aparato fue diseñado para uso con Corriente
Alterna de 120V (60 hertzios) únicamente. Este
aparato tiene un enchufe polarizado (un polo es más
ancho que otro). Como medida de seguridad, se podrá
enchufar de una sola manera en la toma de corriente
polarizada. Si no entra por completo, inviértelo. Si aún
no entra completamente, llame a un electricista califi-
cado. No intente vencer esta función de seguridad.
Su conjunto de peluquería de Conair® tiene todo
lo que usted necesita para lograr cortes de cabello
profesionales en su casa. Incluye una cortadora para
el cabello potente con una palanca de ajuste de
recorte y cuchillas de acero duro para un cortado
preciso. También incluye 9 peines accesorios para
varios largos de cortado (incluyendo un peine para
la oreja izquierda y un peine para la oreja derecha),
tijeras de peluquero, un peine de barbero con dientes
rectas, una capa de barbero, aceite lubricante, un
cepillo de limpieza y una cubierta protectora para
las cuchillas.

demuestra que funciona mejor cuando corta a su
propia velocidad.
Empezar el corte de cabello:
1. Peine el cabello en la
dirección de su crecimiento
natural
2. Empiece el recorte a un
lado de la cabeza, usando el
peine accesorio más largo,
y cortando de abajo hacia
arriba. Sostenga la cortadora
ligeramente contra el cabello
con los dientes del peine
apuntando hacia arriba y
plano contra la cabeza. Pase
la cortadora en el cabello
gradualmente hacia arriba y
hacia fuera, cortando un poco cada vez. Repita al
otro lado y atrás de la cabeza .
Si quiere un corte de cabello
aún más corto, aplique más
presión con el peine acceso-
rio. Esto necesita al principio
un poco de práctica. También
puede cambiar el peine
accesorio por uno más corto.
Recuérdese que es mejor
dejar demasiado cabello que
muy poco.
Si quiere dejar el cabello más
largo encima de la cabeza,
use el peine de barbero o sus
dedos para levantar el cabello y
corte a lo largo deseado. Trabaje siempre de adel-
ante por atrás de la cabeza y corte el cabello poco
a poco, reduciendo el espacio entre sus dedos o
el peine y la cabeza. Peine con frecuencia para
verificar que no hayan mechones disparejos y para
eliminar el cabello cortado.
CONTORNEO
El contorneo no requiere accesorios. Peine el cabel-
lo en el estilo deseado. Coloque la cortadora entre
las patillas y la oreja (véase el dibujo) y asegúrese
que la esquina de la cuchilla se encuentre contra
el nacimiento del pelo. Mueva la cortadora lenta-
mente sobre, alrededor y por atrás de las orejas,
siguiendo la forma del cabello. Para cortar el pelo
en la nuca y las patillas, sostenga la cortadora al
revés (véase el dibujo), colóquela contra la piel al
nivel deseado y muévala hacia abajo.
DETÉNGASE. PEINE. VERIFIQUE.
Para resultados óptimos, siga el ejemplo de los
profesionales: peine el cabello con frecuencia y
verifique los resultados mientras peine. Esto evitará
tener lados, flequillos o líneas de nuca disparejos.
PERFECTOS CORTES CON
CORONILLAS PLANAS, CORTES
MILITARES ETC.
Siempre corte el cabello desde la parte trasera de
la nuca hacia la coronilla, usando el peine acceso-
rio más largo. Sostenga el peine contra la cabeza
y mueva la cortadora lentamente en el cabello
hacia arriba. Use la misma técnica para los lados,
cortando desde abajo hasta la parte superior lateral
de la cabeza.
Para la parte delantera, corte el cabello en la direc-
ción contraria a la del crecimiento natural del
cabello, luego iguale los lados.
Para una coronilla plana, use un peine plano en vez
de un peine accesorio, y corte el cabello encima
del peine (véase el dibujo).
Para cortar el pelo en la nuca y en las patillas,
use el peine accesorio No.1 (Véase la sección
“Contorneo”).
INSTRUCCIONES DE
MANTENIMIENTO
ALINEACIÓN DE LAS CUCHILLAS
MANTENIMIENTO DE LAS CUCHILLAS:
Para resultados óptimos, siempre aplique aceite
lubricante en las cuchillas antes, durante y
después de usar la cortadora. Mantenga el aparato
boca abajo, lejos de su cuerpo, y aplique aceite
sobre y los lados de las cuchillas. Limpie el exceso
de aceite con un paño seco y suave. Mantenga el
aceite fuera del alcance de los niños
Las cortadoras de Conair® son inspeccionadas
para asegurarse que las cuchillas estén perfecta-
mente alineadas. Usted necesitará alinearlas nue-
vamente después de extraerlas para limpiarlas o
reemplazarlas o si se desalinearan por un golpe.
Para determinar si las cuchillas necesitan alin-
earse de nuevo, simplemente hágalas coincidir
como lo indican las figuras que se encuentran a
continuación.
Para reemplazar las cuchillas después de extraer-
las, regrese la cuchilla pequeña en la guía osci-
lante de plástico negro, luego asegúrese que la
cuchilla pequeña y la cuchilla grande estén alinea-
das. Alinee la cuchilla grande con los dos orificios
para tornillos, luego regrese los dos tornillos origi-
nales, apretándolos ligeramente con un destornil-
lador Phillips.
1. Para evitar que la cortadora corte el pelo
demasiado corto o que las cuchillas toquen la
piel, asegúrese que la parte superior de la cuchilla
grande esté a una distancia de 0.08 cm a 0.16 cm
de la cuchilla pequeña.
2. Asegúrese que el extremo diente izquierdo de
la cuchilla grande cubra o esté a la izquierda del
primer diente pequeño de la cuchilla pequeña.
3. Asegúrese que el diente grande de la extremi-
dad derecha de la cuchilla pequeña toque el diente
de la extremidad derecha de la cuchilla grande.
Para cualquier otro servicio, lleve su aparato a
un centro de servicio autorizado. Este producto
no tiene piezas que puedan ser reparadas por
el usuario. Este producto fue diseñado para uso
doméstico.
No jale, doble o enrolle el cable alrededor del
aparato.
ACEITE ESPECIAL
Para mantener las cuchillas de su cortadora en
condición óptima, lubríquelas después de tres o
cuatro cortes de cabello, aplicando unas cuantas
gotas de aceite lubricante en los dientes de las
cuchillas. Encienda la cortadora durante un minuto,
luego apáguela. El aceite lubricante fue específica-
mente diseñado para las cortadoras de alta veloci-
dad de Conair®. Porque es el aceite adecuado, no
reducirá la velocidad de las cuchillas. Nunca use
otro aceite para lubricar su aparato. No hay ningún
substituto al aceite de Conair.
GUÍA DE CONAIR PARA CORTAR
EL CABELLO EN SU CASA
Antes de empezar:
1. Inspeccione el aparato para asegurarse que está
libre de cabello y polvo, que está lubricado y que
funciona correctamente
2. Coloque una toalla o una capa de barbero alred-
edor del cuello de la persona a quien le va a cortar
el cabello
3. Siente a la persona de manera que su cabeza
esté al nivel de sus ojos para mayor visibilidad y
control
4. Desenrede el cabello, luego coja la cortadora
confortablemente en su mano. Ya está listo para
empezar.
CORTES MEDIANOS A LARGOS
Empiece por cortar poco cabello, hasta
acostumbrase al cortado de cada peine accesorio.
Use el peine accesorio más largo para empezar,
luego use peines accesorios más cortos para
acortar el cabello.
• El peine accesorio corto (No.1) corta el cabello a
1/8" (3 mm)
• El peine accesorio mediano-corto (No.2) corta el cabello
a 1/4" (6 mm)
