use, make certain the blades have been
aligned properly and oiled.

TROUBLESHOOTING
BLADE CARE
Because the clipper blades are precision-made
for a very special use, they should always be
handled with care. Each time you finish using
the clipper, take the cleaning brush provided and
brush away any loose hair that has collected in
the blades.
Be especially careful when changing or adjusting
blades. When you have your clipper serviced, be
sure that both blades are sharpened or replaced
at the same time.
FOR ULTRA CLOSE FADE STYLES:
A fade cut is a haircut that starts with very short
hair (almost bald) on the sides of the head, but
lengthens as it nears the top.
1. Start with clean, dry hair. If hair is fairly long,
use the 5-position comb attachment with
the STANDARD blade to remove the bulk of
your hair before starting the fade cut. Never
force the blade through the hair. If you do,
you could cause pulling as the teeth of this
blade set are very fine to insure a tight,
close cut.
2. Using the 5-position comb attachment,
trim hair, cutting against the growth of
your hair (from base of neck up towards
top of head). At first, until you become
familiar with the adjustments, begin with
a longer setting. You can always go back
and make your hair a little shorter. Brush
or comb away cuttings as you go. Do not
force the blades through the hair. Let the
clipper do the work.
3. Gradually trim hair from entire head, rotat-
ing clipper when necessary. Keep cutting
against the natural growth of your hair.
(Using the STANDARD blade with the 5-
position comb attachment on the lowest
position, you can cut hair to 1/4" length.
With the 5-position comb attachment
removed, the STANDARD blade will cut hair
to 1/32" in length.)
4. Establish the location of the fade line.
Remove comb attachment. Start by using
the STANDARD blade; blend the hair at the
fade line by trimming up and out, repeating
as you rotate around the head. Cut hair
shorter on the sides and base of the head
than on the top of the head.
5. Insert the BALDY blade and repeat. The
BALDY blade will cut hair to less than 1/64"
in length. Begin at the base of the scalp
and blend towards the fade line. The goal
is to blend the hair so there is no real line,
just a perfect fade from bald on the sides
to very short hair on the top. Continue
blending – remember to comb or brush
hair against the natural growth to remove
cuttings as you go, until you achieve the
desired effect.
FOR THE BALD CUT:
Follow the instructions for the FADE CUT, cutting
hair progressively shorter with each pass of the
trimmer. For a bald effect, use the BALDY blade;
this blade will cut hair to less than 1/64" in
length. To receive maximum closeness, overlap
strokes in a criss-cross pattern. To achieve a
smooth bald effect, we recommend you finish
using a razor with lather to shave entire head.

shaving cream.
GROWING A BEARD AND
MUSTACHE
There are three key factors that will
determine which beard or mustache style is
best for you:
1. The shape and dimensions of your face.
2. The natural growth of your beard/
mustache.
3.
The thickness of your beard/mustache.
If you are unsure which type of beard or
mustache would most suit your face, speak
with a professional hair stylist and ask for an
opinion on what style would be best. Once
your beard or mustache has been styled, it is
essential that you maintain its appearance.
To do this, use your trimmer to trim your
beard/mustache weekly.
For the best trimming results, your beard
should be slightly damp (NOT WET) when
using your trimmer. This will prevent the trim-
mer from removing more hair than desired.
If your clipper does not seem to be working prop-
erly, take the following troubleshooting steps
before returning it for repair:
1. Be sure the electrical outlet is working, by
plugging in another appliance to test it.
2. Make sure the electrical plug is not
connected to a switch which turns power off
when lights are turned off.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR CLIPPER
OILING THE BLADES
Oil the blades each time you use the clipper,
whether before or after cutting. Use only the oil
supplied and gently squeeze a few drops onto
the teeth of the blades. Wipe any excess off with
a paper towel. Keep oil away from children.
TO REMOVE AND CLEAN BLADE SET
Hold clipper firmly.
Remove 5 position comb
guide attachment. Using
your thumb, gently push
the blade set away from
the front of the clipper.
Clean the blade set with the
cleaning brush provided, by gently brushing
away any loose hair.
TO REPLACE THE BLADE SET
Snap the blade into unit. You should hear a
click, once blade set is seated correctly.
To promote the long life of the appliance, use
your clipper only for the purpose intended by
the manufacturer.
TYPES OF BEARDS/MUSTACHES
GETTING STARTED:
OUTLINING YOUR BEARD
1. It is always best to
begin with a clean,
slightly damp beard.
2. After you have
combed through
your beard in the
direction it grows naturally, you will want to
outline the desired shape, beginning under
your jawline.
3. Begin defining your beard’s shape under your
chin and work upward on each side of your
face toward your ears. Then define the upper
outline of your beard across your cheeks, past
your sideburns and toward your hairline.
NOW YOU’RE READY TO TRIM
YOUR BEARD
1. Your trimmer adjusts to five positions so you
can have a beard length from 1/4" (shortest)
to 1" (longest).
2. To use the 5-position comb, press the lock
button and slide the unit over the trimmer
blades and snap it down into position. At first,
until you become familiar with the adjust-
ments, use the longest trim setting (1"). (You
can always go back and make your beard a
little shorter.)
3. Begin trimming your beard using smooth,
even strokes. Start with your sideburns and
work downward toward your chin.
(Never attempt to trim against the natural
growth of your beard because the hair will be
cut too short.)
4. If you decide you want a closer trim, you can
now adjust the 5-position comb attachment
to a shorter setting (such as 1/2" or 3/8") and
go over your beard again until you achieve the
desired length.

CAMBIAR EL CONJUNTO DE CUCHILLAS
Coloque el nuevo juego de cuchillas y presione
hasta que caiga en posición (se oirá un “clic”).

solamente con el propósito para el cual fue
diseñado.
LIMPIAR LAS CUCHILLAS
Las cuchillas fueron diseñadas con precisión
para un uso específico, y deberían recibir un
cuidado muy especial. Limpie las cuchillas
después de cada uso con el cepillo de limpieza
provisto.
Maneje el aparato con cuidado cuando cambie
o ajuste las cuchillas. Asegúrese que ambas
cuchillas están afiladas o cambiadas al mismo
tiempo.
CORTE COMBINADO
Un corte combinado es un corte con cabello muy
corto (casi rasurado) en los lados de la cabeza y
cabello más largo a medida que se acerca de
la coronilla.
1. Empiece con cabello limpio y húmedo. Si
su cabello es demasiado largo, coloque el
peine accesorio de 5 posiciones encima de
la cuchilla NORMAL y acorte el cabello. Los
dientes de la cuchilla son muy Finos para
un cortado de cerca. Por lo tanto, forzar la
cortadora en el cabello podría tironear.
2. Corte el cabello en la dirección opuesta a
la del crecimiento del pelo, desde la base
de la nuca hasta la coronilla. Empiece con
el ajuste más largo, hasta acostumbrarse
a los diferentes ajustes. Siempre puede
volver a acortar el pelo. Peine el cabello a
medida que corta para quitar los recortes
de cabello. No empuje las cuchillas en el
cabello. Deje la cortadora trabajar a su
propio ritmo.
3. Corte el cabello uniformemente, en la
dirección opuesta a la del crecimiento
del pelo. El ajuste más corto del peine
accesorio corta el cabello a 6mm (1/4”).
Sin el peine accesorio, la cuchilla NORMAL
corta el cabello a 0.8mm (1/32”).
4. Decida donde ubicar la línea de combinado.
Remueva el peine accesorio y acorte el
cabello con la cuchilla NORMAL. Mueva
la cortadora por arriba y por fuera todo
alrededor de la cabeza. Deje el cabello más
corto en los lados y atrás de la cabeza, y
más largo encima de la cabeza.
5. Coloque la cuchilla de RAPAR y repita
el cortado. La cuchilla de RAPAR corta el
cabello a menos de 0.4mm (1/64”). Empiece
en la base de la cabeza y combine hacia la
línea de combinado. Lo ideal es combinar
el cabello hasta que no se note la línea. El
cabello debería ser casi rasurado en los
lados y muy corto encima de la cabeza.
Peine el cabello en la dirección opuesta a la
del crecimiento del pelo a medida que corta
para quitar los recortes de cabello. Siga
combinando hasta lograr el efecto deseado.
CORTE RAPADO
Siga las instrucciones para el corte combinado,
cortando el cabello más corto con cada pasada
de cortadora. Para un efecto rapado, use la
cuchilla de RAPAR. Esta cuchilla corta el cabello
a 0.4mm (1/64”). Para dejar el cabello lo más
corto posible, pase la cortadora en el cabello
con movimientos entrecruzados. Para dejar la
cabeza calva, recomendamos que rasure la
cabeza entera, usando una rasuradora y crema
de afeitar. Para un resultado óptimo, use la
máquina de enjabonado en caliente de Conair
con su crema de afeitar favorita.
BARBAS Y BIGOTES
El tipo de barba o de bigote que más conviene a
su rostro depende de:
1. La forma y el tamaño de su rostro
2. La forma del crecimiento natural de su barba
o de su bigote
3. El espesor de su barba o de su bigote
Si no está seguro del tipo de barba o bigote que
le conviene, busque el consejo de un estilista
profesional. Después de darle forma a su barba
o a su bigote, tendrá que mantener su aspecto,
usando la cortadora una vez por semana.
Para mejores resultados, humedezca ligeramente
su barba o su bigote antes de recortarlos (no
los moje). Esto le dará un corte más preciso y
evitará cortar demasiado pelo.
GUARDE ESTAS
INSTRUCCIONES
DETECCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
Si su aparato no se carga, siga los pasos
siguientes antes de contactar a un centro de
servicio:
1. Asegúrese que la toma de corriente esté
funcionando, probando otro aparato en la toma.
2. Asegúrese que la toma de corriente no esté
conectada a un interruptor que controla la luz.

LUBRICAR LAS CUCHILLAS
Lubrique las cuchillas cada vez que use la
cortadora, antes o después del cortado. Use el
aceite provisto solamente. Coloque unas gotas
de aceite en los dientes de la cuchilla y remueva
el exceso con un paño seco.
SACAR Y LIMPIAR EL JUEGO DE CUCHILLAS
Mantenga el aparato
firmemente y presione
el juego de cuchillas por
atrás con el pulgar para
desengancharlo.
Limpie el conjunto de
cuchillas con el cepillo de
limpieza provisto y saque los recortes de pelo
con cuidado.
TIPOS DE BARBAS Y BIGOTES
CORTAR SU BARBA
EL CONTORNEO
1. Se le hará más fácil
cortar su barba si
está limpia y ligera-
mente humedecida.
2. Peine su barba en la
dirección del creci-
miento natural del pelo.
3. Empiece dando forma a su barba debajo de
la quijada y suba hacia la oreja, en cada lado
de su rostro. Siga dando forma al área de la
mejilla, a las patillas y al nacimiento del pelo.
EL RECORTE
1. El peine accesorio de 5 posiciones le permite
ajustar lo largo del recorte de 6mm (1/4") a
25mm (1")
2. Cuando quiera usar el peine accesorio,
ensártelo sobre las cuchillas. Use la posición
más larga (25mm) hasta que se acostumbre
al tamaño del recorte (siempre podrá volver a
acortar la barba).
3. Corte su barba con movimientos suaves y
parejos. Empiece por las patillas, luego baje
hacia la quijada. Nunca corte la barba en la
dirección opuesta a la del crecimiento del pelo.
El recorte resultaría demasiado corto.
4. Si desea un corte más corto, escoja un ajuste
menor (como 9mm o 13mm) y acorte la barba
hasta conseguir el tamaño deseado.
